This rare old Sunbeam Talbot Mk2 has just passed it's 70th birthday! It's spent a large part of its life in a museum and has had only 2 owners from new. Following a cameo appearance in a Bollywood movie it last graced the road in 2013 and has been dry stored ever since. We believe the gauged 77000 miles are genuine.

The engine runs freely and the car drives and stops, however it will need some mechanical recommissioning to make it roadworthy.

Structurally, this is a very sound example: the door bottoms are rusted - particulalrly on the right hand side and the paintwork is poor. But otherwise the bodywork and underside appear very solid. The car comes with its original rear wheel spats which are in good condition..

Inside is very complete. Dashboard, gauges, steering wheel and column shift are in good shape. Seats are original and the leather needs a good feed but apart from a small tear on the passenger seat they're in decent shape. The headlining and sliding sunroof, similalry, have dated well.

Our friends at the Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register tell us that this car was built and delivered in December 1950 and registered on 1st January 1951. Their records show that 535 others were built that year of which 10 (including this one) are currently registered with them.

These majestic cars are getting very hard to find nowadays and, as a very complete and solid rolling restoration, we reckon that with a bit of TLC this could easily be brought back to it's early '50s splendour with many years ahead of it on the road.
