A delightful late production Midget 1500 presented very nicely in Inca Yellow. Good, solid condition throughout with just a couple of small areas of surface paint bubbling around the rear wheel arches. Black vinyl interior is first-class and the hood is in great shape.

The car has 88,000 miles under its belt and – according to its weighty history file – it has been well looked after with many many thousands spent on it over the years. The original service booklet shows stamped records from new to 1987 with subsequent years’ works into the 2020s evidenced by pages and pages of parts receipts, garage records and old MOT documents.

It drives as a 1500 should: lively and entertaining. The engine pulls well throughout the range and settles to a nice smooth idle with no smokiness or knocking. It appears that the car was treated to a new gearbox in 1989…it’s weathered well offering crisp changes up and down. Suspension and steering are good.

This is a lovely usable classic. There’s scope for a bit of tidying and improvement here and there but it’ll come with a new MOT to be driven away and enjoyed immediately.
